GW IG Store / PlayNC Refusing credit card
Hi, I am trying to use the same credit card with the same billing address that I've used to purchase GW1 (second account), Nightfall, Preorder Nightfall, and extra character slots from the in game store but it is being refused.
I wanted to get GW:EN so I could play for the weekend, but my card was being refused. I have plenty of money in the account and none of the information has changed since my last purchase from the in game store. I tried again to purchase through the plaync.com store and had the same issue. I thought maybe it was just a bug from the weekend and perhaps they were denying preorders because the weekend was so close to being finished so I tried it again today after the weekend was over. Instead of being refused I got an error saying my information may be fraudulent. All of the information is corrent and I triple checked. I just made a couple other purchases today without hassel and I called my bank and they said there was no problems with the card. Why is my information being refused now when it never has been in the past? It's a visa debit/check card. I missed the preview event and now I may end up having to purchase the game from somewhere else now. Not really a problem just a huge inconvenience for no reason. |

I suggest calling Support or Emailing them.
I've used my Mastercard debit/credit card before on the ingame store with no problems. Just a guess but.... is it possible that you have an old address linked to your card and your filling in a new address. Or the 3 digit number on the back of the card is wrong. |

If i were you, i'd check all my accounts related to the credit card and Anet accounts.
Not being to use the card you had used before in the same way, and being refused, AND also being given an error point to possible account compromise. At this point it is VERY important that you can verify that all your accounts and funds are accounted for. On top of that, i suggest changing account information for all Anet/GW accounts that have your credit card linked to them. Change login info and password asap. After all that, if you still cannot get a verified purchase through the GW/Anet in-game store, then most likely it has to do with your Credit Card company not approving the purchase. I sincerely hope your accounts are not compromised, as that could lead to horrible results for you. Just try and verify all the suggested information and change account information where you can in case an outside source currently has access to those accounts... In the very least, you can send a support ticket to NCSoft/Anet Support about account problems, and state your situation. Others here may have good ideas for you too... Good Luck to you, i hope it all works out cheers. |

Check with your bank. There was a thread about this recently at the City of Heroes forums.
It seems that NCSoft is using an overseas company as the transaction processor, and many credit card companies are automatically denieing the transactions as a security precaution, on the theory that an overseas charge indicated a stolen credit card number. If you can get through to your banks fraud/security department, you can probably authorize the charge. |

Thanks for the suggestions, I have a few ideas of where to go from here.
I fixed the fraud message, I had my last 2 digits messed up on my CC number, so that's why I got that. I am still being REFUSED as my error though so I will have to call my bank again and ask them specificially why this company is being REFUSED. ---------------- I searched the internet and found pages in which blizzard and ncsoft were both hit up by credit card fraud. Most likely some form of farming bots buying accounts or time on both servers to increase their productivity for gold farming based on stolen credit card sequences. It's possible that my bank put a block up to NC Soft and Blizzard within the last month to stop these charges from happening. It looks like I'm going to have to call them up again and tell them to allow me to make purchases from NCSoft. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...=450004&page=7 After further reading this post I am now certain that this is the reason I have not been able to make a purchase recently from NC Soft. My bank has put a block on it due to the current fraud issues. Last edited by vixro; Aug 28, 2007 at 05:36 AM // 05:36.. |

Oh I had this last week too. Just contact support, they'll fix you up so your card will go through. I had to give them the last 4 numbers of the card I wanted to use and my zip code, after purchasing gave an error.
I had tried to order and was getting the fraud message too. Everything was typed correctly, bank had money in it, and I even tried two seperate banks/cards bah. Both were Visa though. Just contact them. They were really fast to fix it up so I could order through the site. Within a matter of hours, probably sooner but I wasn't at my PC for a while. However just so you know, I was only able to buy one code per week. I got Prophecies, then three days later wanted to get Factions through the PlayNC site. Contacted support because the FAQ wasn't clear and was told the orders only work one per week for buying new game codes through their site. |
